Louise Nealon is a writer from Co. Kildare, Ireland. She received a BA in English Literature from Trinity College Dublin and an MA in Creative Writing from Queen’s University, Belfast. In 2017, she was the recipient of the Francis Ledwidge Creative Writing Award and won the Seán Ó Faoláin International Short Story Competition with her first published short story, “What Feminism Is.” The story was later published in the Irish Times, followed by another short story, “The Possibility of Snow.” Her debut novel, Snowflake, was published by Manilla Press and Harper Collins in 2021 and became a number 1 bestseller, winning Newcomer of the Year at the Irish Book Awards. Snowflake has been translated into over a dozen languages. In 2024, it was chosen for the One Dublin One Book campaign, an initiative that aims to encourage everyone in Dublin to read a book connected with the capital city during the month of April every year. Her second novel, Everything that is Beautiful, was released in April 2026. She currently lives in Belfast, where she is working on her third novel.
